Schedule Masters, Inc. - Press Release
Nov 2006 - Brampton, CANADA. DEXAGON and Schedule Masters, Inc., a provider of transit system software including run-cutting and rostering, have formed a strategic alliance to provide
web-based transit and routing services for transit properties that use The Master Scheduler©.
With the explosion of web-based services, and the ability to deliver real-time information based on user requests, SMI now offers
an AJAX-based Trip Planner System. This system uses the actual routes and transit stops, coupled with the user's requested departure
time, to supply a real-time answer that clearly explains which transit stop to start at, which vehicle(s) to take, and all transfer points
along the way. Furthermore, the system tells the user the total time of the trip, as well as the total distance that the user will have
to walk. Special requests, such as "Accessible Vehicles" are also accommodated.
"This new module allows the transit property to reach out to their riders, and provide timely, useful information," says David Reed,
President of Schedule Masters. "We selected DEXAGON to provide the web-side programming based on the clean design of their AJAX interface, and their expertise in
creating modular code that can easily be integrated into our client's existing websites".
A number of transit properties have already purchased this new web-based module as an enhancement to their existing transit software.
